Day 1: Kyrgyz border - Karakul Lake - Murgab
Welcome to Tajikistan. Upon arrival, you will meet the driver at the border and travel to Murgab. You will drive over Taldik pass, of 3615 meters high and see outstanding views. Right on the highway of the Pamir Tract is located the light-blue lake of Karakul (3, 815 m) which means "The Black Lake". Karakul is the highest large mountain lake of the world, besides those in Tibet and Titicaca. Afterwards we will drive to Murgab. It is said: "to arrive here and do not see Murgab is like not visiting the Pamirs at all". This tour will be continued driving over the highest Ak Baital pass (4 655 m). It is no doubt you will be impressed. Transfer to a guesthouse for rest.
Day 2: Murgab - Yashil Kul Lake - Bulunkul Lake
On this tour we will see outstanding Yashil Kul and Bulunkul (Blue lakes), strained on the altitude of 3 700 meters above sea level, are located in the Murghab district. The color of water in Bulunkul is violet and dark-blue. There are a lot of fish in the lake. In addition, you will see yaks. They are domestic animals giving milk and meat products. On the way to the lake you will drive over Naizatash pass (4 137 m). Rest is in a homestay.
Day 3: Bulunkul - Yamg
In the morning we will drive to Yamg over Khargush pass (4 344 m). The nearly unreachable scenery and the rocky mountains of this corner of the world created a unique diversity of wildlife. The most common species of wild mammals are Turkestan rat, tiger-cat, grizzly bear, badger, stoat, fox, grey and red wolves. Pamirs affords a rich and prosperous population of Marco Polo sheep, the biggest sheep in the world, with all year round and a strong population of the highly rare snow leopard. Night is in a homestay.
Day 4: Yamg - Khorog
Today we will drive along Tajik Afgan border to Khorog located in the heart of Asia, the Pamirs are sky-scraping, snow-capped, royal mountains, see-through clear blue waters of lakes and rivers, wide valleys and bone-dry deserts. The highest mountains of the world are called "the Roof of the World". The land of Pamirs is situated at elevations from 3 500 to 4 200 meters above sea level. Pamirs is perhaps one the few areas in Central Asia where ethnic peculiarities of the Pamir people be existent. These societies were inaccessible from each other by blocked mountain ranges, and industrialized into distinct reserves with different dialects, even different languages. Night is in a guesthouse.
Day 5: Khorog - Kalai Khum
We will drive to Kalai Khum village and see rocky mountains over 6 000 meters. You will be impressed by outstanding environment and learn more about the ethnography, history and everyday life of mountain dwellers. We will have a break in small villages to communicate with local people. In addition you will see Afgan stony villages and gardens. Night is in a home stay.
Day 6: Kalai Khum - Norak - Dushanbe
In the morning we will travel to Dushanbe along Afghanistan border. The highest point of the day is Shuraba pass (2 267 m) famous for its unique mountains belonging to the Territory of Pamir Mountains. The Pamirs have enthused the world's greatest surveyors - Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar. Then we will drive along natural border - Pyanj River famous for giant mountain system the ocean of white and blue mountains. Admire the beauty of Norak water reservoir or Tajik Sea. Rest is in a hotel.
Day 7: Dushanbe
The entire day is dedicated to a city tour. You can visit Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament and walk to the National park, Ministry of Inner Affairs and see the biggest National Flag in the world - 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. In the second part of day we will visit the Gurminj Museum of traditional musical instruments and of course our Asian bazar. Night is in a hotel.
Day 8: Flight
