This adventure will give you a chance to discover the Land of Celestial Mountains. You will visit the best places of interest while biking in our republic. You will be also biking near the famous Lake of Son Kul that is situated at the altitude of 3016 m. a. s. l. and have a rest in the marvelous gorges. You will see how the real nomads live, and you will be stunned with their hospitality.
Day 1: Arrival in Bishkek
Your guide will collect you from the International Airport of Manas and accompany you to Bishkek City (capital of Kyrgyzstan). The drive from the Airport to Bishkek takes half an hour. After accommodation in a hotel*** that is situated in the tranquil part of the city you will have a rest and you will start the day with a breakfast. Afterwards you will have an excursion to the Natural Park of Ala - Archa that is located on the Kyrgyz ridge (a spur of Tien - Shan), in the Ala-Arch Gorge, 45 km. south from Bishkek. To have a nice view of this famous gorge you will go to the top of a mountain. Transfer back to Bishkek. At 7 p.m. traditional dinner will be served Overnight stay is in the hotel***.
Day 2: Bishkek - Kochkor - Sarybulak
This morning we will be transferred to Kochkor Village via Orto Tokoi water collecting reservoir. In Kochkor Village you will visit the shop of Kyrgyz Handicrafts. There you will meet a family that will show you the way of national felt carpets production. During this felt show you even can create your own carpet. Afterwards we ride to Sary Bulak Village (2310 m. alt., 38 km) by the asphalt road. Transfer (7 km, 2390m. alt.) to confluence of Kara-Kudjur and Biulioomiu rivers by bike on the dirt road. This night we will spend in the tent camp.
Day 3: Sarybulak - Kichi-Naryn
This day is easy one. You will ride along the Balgart and Kichi - Naryn Rivers. Riding is on the dirt road. Near the Kichi-Naryn River in the forest, overnight stay is in tents. This area is well-liked among the nomads since ancient time. The Kyrgyz shepherds with all their relatives were coming to this area. As a big family all of them were going from one place to another with a great amount of livestock. The Kyrgyz nomads are very hospitable and like to meet travelers. Some Kyrgyz tribes conclude 1000 yurts and even more!
Day 4: Ride (63 km) Kichi-Naryn - Naryn town
Breakfast. After that we cycle down to the village of Kichi - Naryn (2351m. alt.), which is located 4 km. away from Kichi - Naryn and Naryn Rivers confluence. You will cycle to the town of Naryn (2050 m. alt.) along Naryn River. The road to Naryn will amaze you with its magnificence and remarkable mountains. The whole way passes along the incredible gorges and you will have many stops for taking photos. Naryn town is long narrow; it was built right along the gorge near the longest river in Kyrgyz Republic - Naryn. This town is situated very close to the mountains, at the altitude of 2800 meters above the sea level. Easy day. Cycling is by the main road. We will take lunch on the road. As nomads, this night you spend in yurts! Yurts are nomadic habitations, which are made out of wood without using a single nail and felt.
Day 5: Transfer or Ride Naryn - Son Kul Lake
This day you can ride or to be transferred over the Kurtka Pass (3243m. alt.) to Son Kul Lake, which is the 2nd largest lake in Kyrgyz Republic. Son Kul Lake is surrounded by mountains and it is the highest alpine lake in Kyrgyzstan, situated at an altitude of 3016 meters above sea level. Kyrgyz nomads started to come to this wonderful area with their families for rest and relaxation. Herders of the Naryn region come to the lake to use it as a pastureland. The first ride's part to the entrance of the gorge is trouble-free with a slight descent. There is a narrow spot where we will enter a narrow gorge with high sharp rock walls, in some places up to 200 meters. A steep rise to the pass begins here. Descent is easier and shorter. Upon our arrival, you will be free to explore and enjoy the untouched nature of the lake and its environs. Dinner. Overnight stay (3016 m. alt.) is in nomadic collapsible dwellings - yurts. Yurt represents wooden frame, covered with thin felt mats.
Day 6: Son Kul Lake
Today we have free time in the Kyrgyz paradise after long bicycle journey. You will have an excellent chance to explore nature and the lifestyle of the local nomads by yourself. Optionally you can ride on a horse along the lake's shore, or just relax in the atmosphere of wild and calm natural world. It is a great opportunity familiarize with nomadic traditions and mores. We will walk among the Mountains of Tian - Shan where every nomad invites you to his yurt to try a piece of bread and drink kumis - national staple drink made of mare's milk that is fermented. You will spend this night in the tent camp.
Day 7: Ride Son Kul lake - Kyzyl Korgon canyon (80km)
After the breakfast we will ride in direction of the holy stones with ancient stone inscriptions (dating back to 800 B.C.). Afterwards we will leave Son Kul and will ride to the Djumgal valley through Kara Keche pass (3381m). It is a region of high mountains, snow peaks, rocks, red canyons. Local walking in the red canyons. Night in tents.
Day 8: Ride Kyzyl Korgon - Kyrk-Kyz pass 3223m
This day we will see summer pastures, panoramic views and rocks of different colors. We will pass near the Village of Kyzyl Oi (red canyon). On the way to the village you will see our famous red canyons that are completely different from other mountains in Kyrgyz Republic. This place always impresses travelers and they want to come back there one more time. Kyzyl Oi is a small poor village in the mountains. You will have time to walk there and to see the life of Kyrgyz people in countryside. Overnight stay is in the tent camp.
Day 9: Ride Kyrk-Kyz pass - Ter Jailak pass 2446m - Toluk village (50km)
Today we will have a difficult cycling. On our way we will meet many Kyrgyz shepherds on the summer pastures (jailoo). The Kyrgyz nomads always glad to communicate with foreigners and are very hospitable. You could ask them about their life and to see their felt dwellings - yurts. It will be also possible to try national drink kymis. It is made of mare's milk that is fermented. This drink has really unusual taste. Even in our time herdsmen come to this place and you can see their way of lifestyle. Overnight is in the tents.
Day 10: Ride and transfer to the Toktogul village
Breakfast. After that we start our cycling. The road has a plenty of incredible landscapes and you will never forget them. It becomes evident when you are there that the best creation in the world nature. Our chauffeur will drive behind us. Lunch and transfer to the Village where we can take a shower. Optionally we can drive to the artificial lake. Free time for leisure. We will spend this night in the home stay.
Day 11: Transfer to Bishkek city
We will drive to Bishkek city in the morning. You will be carried away by the astonishing landscapes offered through views of the untouched nature. You will have free time in the city to go for shopping and to walk. You will have a dinner in a restaurant in the evening. This night you will spend in the hotel***.
Day 12: Transfer to the airport
Transfer to the International Airport of Manas according to your flight details.
